Basic functions of the urbanhive app
The urbanhive app lets you manage and control your homefarm. With the app you can do everything from your smartphone, from monitoring plant growth through to controlling the lighting and watering.
The app can be downloaded free of charge from the respective app store (Android and iOS). After opening the app you first see the view with your connected homefarms. If you haven't connected a homefarm to the app yet, you'll be prompted to connect your first homefarm.
The homefarming course is also a very helpful resource, giving you plenty of valuable tips and guidance on setting up and managing your homefarm. If you're about to set up your first homefarm, we recommend watching the video course.
At the very bottom of the app you'll also find the menu bar, which gives you access to further areas of the app.
If you have already connected a homefarm to the urbanhive app, you can tap the relevant farm in the app to reach a new view.
In this view you get all the important information about your system. Starting at the top with the system readings such as humidity and ambient temperature. You are also shown how many plants have reached the harvest period.
Prominently in the middle of the view, a homefarm is shown with the individual plant rows and plant slots. Here you have the option of entering your newly grown plants. You can also switch the LED bars of the respective plant row on and off. Besides these settings there is the water level information, which you'll find on the left-hand side of the view.
In the lower part of the view you'll find your configured lighting time. You can use the green bar with the green dot to dim the light. Tapping the time opens a new window in which you can set the lighting time individually.
