Further functions of the urbanhive app
In brief, this is about the following functions:
- Changing the name of plants
- Swapping plant slots
- Changing the planting date
- Turning notifications on or off
Once you have entered the plants you are already growing into the urbanhive app, you still have the option of making the following settings afterwards:
- You can customise the name of your plant. That is particularly helpful if you work with experiment capsules and your own plants.
- Since it can happen during the growing period that you want to swap plant slots in your homefarm, you can also move the plant slots in the app. That way the app always shows the current growing layout, exactly as it is in your homefarm.
- You can also adjust the planting date. That is helpful if you want to enter your plants in the app later on. If a few days pass between planting and entering it in the app, for example, you can adjust the date so it matches the actual planting date.
You get to the settings by tapping on the relevant plant. A new view then opens. Here you are shown information on temperature, growth and germination. If you scroll further down, more information about the plant appears as well as recipes you can cook.

If you now tap the three stacked lines at the top right, you get to the settings described above. If you want to remove the plant from the app because you have harvested it in your homefarm, simply tap the "Harvest" button and the plant slot is free again.
You also have the option of turning notifications on and off. To do so, tap "Profile" in the bottom menu bar. Your profile view then opens, where the next step is to tap the gear icon.
In the newly opened view you get an overview of your account information, and by tapping "Notifications" you reach the corresponding settings.
Here you can decide freely which notifications you want to receive. At the top there are the push notifications for your phone. Further down you can turn your homefarm's water level notification on or off, e.g. that the LED bars flash every 20 seconds when the water level is low.
