Five Delicious Cocktails

Cocktails are very popular, especially in summer. Therefore, in this post, we want to introduce five delicious cocktails with fresh herbs. Fresh herbs provide that certain extra, and they taste even better when home-grown.
Gin Basil Smash
  1. Basil

Basil is probably the classic among herbs. It has a fresh taste with a slight bitter note. The Gin Basil Smash is particularly recommended and has been increasingly popular for several years. It's easy to prepare and a real highlight in terms of taste. To make it visually appealing too, harvest the basil fresh and process it immediately, as the leaves quickly turn brown.

  1. Mint

Mint has a refreshing and slightly sharp taste, caused by menthol. Cocktails with mint can probably be found on almost every cocktail menu, especially, of course, the Caipirinha and the Mojito.

  1. Sage

Sage has an intense and slightly bitter aroma. It contains numerous essential oils, above all thujone and cineol. If you still have gin left, why not try a Sage Gin? With gin, tonic water, and sage, you'll have conjured up a classic cocktail in no time, which tastes subtly of sage.

  1. Rosemary

Rosemary has a spicy and tart taste. Freshly harvested, it even resembles pine needles. Rosemary can not only be used for meat or vegetable dishes, but it also impresses in cocktails. Were you about to put the gin away? Too soon, because gin is the perfect choice for rosemary too. Why not try a Gin Fizz with rosemary? For an alcohol-free alternative, we also found a Grapefruit Rosemary Cocktail.

  1. Coriander

Now things are getting wild, because coriander is either loved or hated. Coriander has an intense aroma, also described as refreshing, lemon-like to mandarin-like. A cocktail with this herb is probably not at the top of the list for most bars. But why not try something exotic? For example, we found the Damuhan Cocktail.

It is best to use herbs from your own cultivation, as this can exclude pesticide contamination, among other things. For the easiest cultivation, 365 days a year, we recommend the homefarm. Now all that's left is to enjoy.
