Growing sorrel with urbanhive
With a Smart Indoor Garden like the homefarm or minifarm, you can easily grow your sorrel directly in your kitchen and harvest it whenever you fancy a fresh, homemade smoothie. If you want to grow sorrel in the garden, you should observe a planting distance of 20cm and plant it out in the bed in May. Direct sowing is possible at the end of April.
Sorrel recipe
With its high vitamin C content, sorrel is perfect for a smoothie. With about 48 mg of vitamin C per 100g of leaves, sorrel provides even more vitamin C than many citrus fruits and thus effectively supports the immune system.

| A handful of | Red sorrel or microgreens |
| 1 | Banana |
| 1 | Apple |
| 200 ml | Water or apple juice |
| 1 | Lemon (optional) |
Instructions:
- Peel and cut the banana and apple into pieces.
- Add water, banana, and apple to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Add red sorrel or microgreens from the homefarm or minifarm and blend again.
- Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.
