Questions about the homefarm

You can grow all kinds of plants in the homefarm – from classic herbs such as Genovese basil to herbs rarely found in shops, like coriander or tarragon. You can also easily grow vegetables, flowers, mushrooms, microgreens and lettuces.

You can use your own seeds. Simply use empty plant capsules for this. We call them "experiment capsules". They already contain important plant nutrients.

A 1.9 m mains cable is included to supply the homefarm with power. At full capacity (grow mode; 16 hours of lighting) the homefarm needs 20 watts (a hairdryer uses 2,000 watts).

We have the most efficient smart indoor garden, as confirmed by Stiftung Warentest (04/25). Electricity costs come to just €2.33 per plant slot per year.

In principle you can hang your homefarm in any room. However, for good plant growth the room temperature should be between 16 and 25 °C. There should be a socket within a 2 m radius so the power supply is ensured. Wall mounting is particularly quick and easy. Thanks to the supplied cleat, the homefarm can be screwed on in just a few steps. All you have to do is drill 3 holes, push in the dowels and screw on the cleat. Finally you hang up the homefarm. The cleat distributes the load perfectly.

Alternatively, the homefarm can be placed flexibly around your home using the stand version.

You can also use the homefarm without the app. It is then set to the standard lighting time. The lighting period starts each day at the time the homefarm was first connected to the mains. If the homefarm is disconnected from the mains, the start time is reset.

Watering works automatically. You fill the water tank, which holds 1.5 litres, and the plants take up the water by themselves. The water tank lasts between 3 and 4 weeks. The app sends you watering reminders. Complicated plant care is a thing of the past. With the minifarm it's child's play.

You can grow up to 15 plants at the same time. All plants regrow over months, so you can harvest continuously all year round. Please follow the harvesting tips in the app. The only exceptions are microgreens and mushrooms.

Harvest quantities vary by variety. From one lettuce plant capsule you can harvest up to 0.2 kg.
