Sustainability

In our homefarming system we pay attention to sustainability and naturalness. We make sure our plant capsules are 100% natural, without pesticides, fungicides or similar chemicals. The plant capsules are also 100% compostable under normal composting conditions, and all the substrates they contain are made exclusively from organic materials.

By growing your own in the homefarm you can be sure that the lettuces and herbs you harvest are free of any harmful substances. Our products are shipped plastic-free and we use sustainable packaging materials that have already been recycled.

The homefarm consists of 170 individual parts that are sourced from European suppliers and assembled in our warehouse in Münster.

Growing your own in the homefarm also saves a great deal of CO2, water and packaging plastic. So far the urbanhive community has saved 9,000,000 transport kilometres, 288,000 litres of water and 0.2 tonnes of single-use plastic. (As of January 2023)
