Keeping an eye on the plant roots
In our plant box it can happen now and then that the roots of the plants settle against the back wall of the water tank. This can cause the water level sensor to report full even though the water is empty. The sensor is located in the left-hand area of the water tank.
To counteract this, you should occasionally check the left side of the water tank to see whether the roots might be affecting the sensor. If that is the case, we recommend swapping the plant for another one with less root growth. Alternatively the plant's roots can be trimmed, although not all plants like this, since the roots are a very important part of the water and nutrient supply.
