Pruning plants

Another important element for successful growing is pruning your plants correctly. By harvesting regularly you encourage new shoots to form and thus increase the harvest volume. With basil, for example, you should cut above a pair of leaves so that new shoots can form above it.

You should also check occasionally whether there are dried-out or brown leaves on your plant. Especially in the lower part of the plant, where growth is dense, leaves can dry out. These should be removed so that newly developing leaves and shoots can spread undisturbed.
