Optimal environmental conditions for your farm

Since the environment around your farm has an important influence, there are a few factors to take into account.

First of all, the farm was developed for indoor use. Although components such as the water level sensors are protected against water to IP67, the homefarm should not be hung outdoors. Outdoors there are also no constant temperatures, which can be hard on the plants.

We therefore recommend hanging the homefarm in a climate-controlled room. The temperature should be between 16 and 26 °C. If temperatures are too high, a lack of oxygen can occur inside the water tank, which impairs plant growth.
Humidity also affects the growth of your plants. The optimal humidity, at which the plants feel comfortable, is 50 - 60%.

Mounting the farm above a radiator should be avoided. Since a radiator usually heats in irregular cycles, the surrounding air also warms and cools irregularly, which in turn affects the humidity.
